| Abstract | This poster presents a demonstration of a WWW-based application that is deployed as part of a comprehensive telemedicine system. This application provides educational and emotional support to families of high risk newborns both during their hospitalization and following discharge. We believe that this use of emerging technology will not only lead to shorter hospital stays but will also increase parental understanding, provide enhanced opportunities for family paced learning, provide emotional support, and improve the coordination of discharge and post-discharge care. |
