Abstract An IBM 1800 computer was used to acquire physiologic data in a cardiac surgery unit. Monitored data was stored and graphed. The computer was also used to calculate pulmonary compliance, pulmonary resistance, cardiac output and other useful values. The EKG was analyzed in realtime for arrhythmias with varying success.
