Abstract Description of an automated care system used on 2750 patients between July 1967 and July 1973. The system was written in Fortran and based on an IBM 1800 with 32 K words of 2 microsecond core memory, 1024 K words of disk storage, 9 data channels, card reader/punch, line printer, and keyboard/typewriter. Various calculations e.g. cardiac index. Closed-loop control of blood infusions.
