Abstract The Vermont-Oxford Neonatal Network is a voluntary collaborative group of health care professionals that work to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of neonatal care by integrating clinical research into daily practice... The Network was created to perform randomized trials, outcomes research, and quality improvement projects. In support of these efforts, the Network maintains a database for infants with birthweights from 501 to 1500 grams. This article describes the Network and database and several other examples of Network activities.
